Green Terror closes fall schedule with 9-0 loss
TOWSON, Md. – Mara Bergman won twice to lead Goucher to a
9-0 win over McDaniel in non-conference women's tennis action on
Friday.
The Gophers (2-2) swept doubles play before winning the first
five singles matches in straight sets.
Jessica
Gelber was the lone player for the Green Terror (0-2) to win a
set, taking the opening set of the No. 6 singles match 7-5 before
falling 6-0 to force a super-tiebreaker set with the match decided.
Jacqui Lamer prevailed 10-7 to wrap up the 9-0 win for the
hosts.
Bergman teamed with Honora Barron for an 8-3 win at No. 2
doubles before taking her second singles match, 6-1, 6-2.
The Green Terror (0-2) opens the spring at Chowan on Mar. 12.
