McDaniel opens indoor season at Bucknell
LEWISBURG, Pa. - Katie Corson (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean
City) finished 13th in the 300 in a program-record time of
43.53 seconds to lead McDaniel at the Bison Opener hosted by
Bucknell in season-opening women's indoor track and field action on
Saturday.
The freshman broke Kristin Duling's old mark by 0.35 seconds in
her initial race with the Green Terror, who added four individual
Centennial Conference qualifiers to Corson's record-setting
performance.
Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters
Mill) finished sixth in the mile with a personal-best time
of 5:33.31.
Kelsey Dickman (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) added an
18th-place showing in the shot put with a toss of 11.16 meters
while Heidi Davidhizar (Westminster, Md./South Range
(Ohio) was 21st in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of
10.18 seconds - the third best time in program history.
Aerielle Harris (Owings Mills, Md./Owings
Mills) rounded out the qualifiers with a time of 29.42
seconds in the 200.
Hilary Hanus (Hockessin, Del./Cab Calloway School of the
Arts) made her indoor track debut with the program's
fifth-fastest 1,000 time, finishing fourth with a time of 3:22.00.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Gulden Relays hosted
by Bucknell on Jan. 9.
