Green Terror notch 8-1 win over Lancaster Bible

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Jamie Latham (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) recorded a pair of wins to lead McDaniel to a 8-1 victory over Lancaster Bible in non-conference women's tennis action on Thursday.

The Green Terror (1-2) swept all three doubles matches before taking five of the six singles matches.

Ashley Bell notched the lone win for the Chargers (1-10) with a three-set win at sixth singles, taking the super-tiebreaker third set, 11-9.

Latham teamed with Kristina Shavirov for an 8-1 win at second doubles before winning 6-2, 6-1 at third singles. Shavirov also won her fourth singles match, 6-2, 7-5.

Brittany Starlings (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) and Sara Yost (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) paired for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Starings added a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles while Yost was a 6-3, 2-6, 10-5 winner in the No. 2 slot.

Jessica Gelber was also a double winner, partnering with Chelsea Schwarz (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) for an 8-4 win at third doubles and taking a three-set victory at fifth singles.

The Green Terror returns to action at Franklin & Marshall on Mar. 23. Match time is 4 p.m.
