GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - Junior
Jacob Hicks scored the first two goals of his career to lead the McDaniel College men's soccer team to a 6-0 road victory over Gwynedd Mercy Wednesday night.
The Green Terror (6-0-1) extended their unbeaten streak this season to seven with their third shutout.
The six-goal decision was also the team's largest margin of victory since a 6-0 win versus Christendom on Oct. 5, 2022. McDaniel also posted a 6-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy earlier that season on Sept. 19, 2022.
Led by Hicks, the defense accounted for three of the team's six goals as junior
Trevor Grodsky also scored his first career goal in the ninth minute for what proved to be the game-winning goal on a penalty kick.
Hicks followed with his first in the 24th minute before the team's top two leading scorers, senior
Chalie Olson and sophomore
Nicholas Clarke struck just 1:02 apart to put the visitors in front 4-0 at halftime. First-year
Callen Kleinschmidt picked up his first career point with an assist on Clarke's team-leading seventh goal.
Sophomore
Gaston Peri netted his first career goal in the 81st minute before Hicks scored his second in the 85th, assisted by first-year
Quinn Pudloski.
McDaniel outshot the Griffins 32-8, including 26-1 in the first 45 minutes.

Gavin Yartymyk, junior
Joseph Peloquin, and sophomore
Ben Cunningham combined for four saves and the shutout. Peloquin made three saves in just over minutes.
The Green Terror continue their three-game road trip on Saturday when they return to Centennial Conference play with a noon kickoff at Ursinus.
