Brock Nets First Goal, McDaniel Extends Unbeaten Streak to Four

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Senior Carly Brock scored her first goal of the season as the McDaniel College women's soccer team posted a 2-0 shutout over Randolph-Macon on Saturday at the Soccer Complex.

The Green Terror (3-0-2) extended their unbeaten streak to five and their defensive scoreless streak to 377:10 with four consecutive shutouts.

Brock scored her first goal of the season and second of her career just 3:24 into the first half for what proved to be the game-winner.

The McDaniel defense limited the Yellow Jackets (1-2-1) to just seven total shots, including just one on goal.

Leading 1-0 at the start of the second half, senior Alexis Keller-Posen netted her first goal of the season only 48 seconds in on a header in the box off a feed from Brock on a corner kick.

Brock finished with a career-high three points as she registered the third multi-point game of her career.

Randolph-Macon's best chance to score came in the 67th minute when Taylor Gim hit the crossbar on a free kick outside the penalty box.

In the 73rd minute, the Green Terror had a chance to add to their lead, but a penalty kick by sophomore Kaite Pena-Bandalo also hit the crossbar.

Sophomore Sierra Ruehl picked up her lone save on a shot in the 89th minute to secure her fourth-straight clean sheet.

McDaniel will put its unbeaten record to the test on Wednesday as it travels to No. 5 Messiah. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
