GRANTHAM, PA – The men's outdoor track & field team competes at Messiah for the Messiah Invitational.
The Green Terror placed 9th of 25 teams with a score of 34.25. Messiah won the meet with 105 points.
Senior Jack Sears set a program record in the 10000 meter run. His time of 32:06.11 won the event and defeated the record previously held by Paul Hugus. Hugus' time of 32:10.57 was run in 2005 at the Bucknell Classic.
Senior Ethan Bush placed second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.25, this improves his fourth all-time mark in the event. Junior Abhishek Mudireddy ran 2:02.67 to place 13th. Junior Fabrizzio Verano Valderrama ran 2:24.90 to place 65th. Senior Simon Greenberg followed in 66th with a time of 2:25.95.
First year David Smith ran 11.03 in the 100 meter dash to place 11th. This mark moves him to tenth in program history. First year Caleb Gonzalez ran 11.36 to place 28th. Junior Braylon Johnson placed 31st with a time of 11.43. Sophomore Robert Wood ran 11.56 to place 45th. Senior Armani Moya-Moore ran 12.15 to place 68th. First year Kyan Hayes placed 73rd with a time of 12.36.
Junior Jacob Gibson moves to tenth in program history in the hammer throw with a mark of 35.07m, he placed 36th. Junior Jamey Travers threw 34.43m to place 39th. Senior AJ Iglesias placed 53rd with a throw of 31.80m.
Senior Keiron Wilson placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.14m. Senior Christian Homer jumped 12.51m to place eighth.
First year Caleb Andoh placed seventh in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.88. Smith placed 17th with a time of 61.01. Smith also placed seventh in high jump with a mark of 1.82m.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Bush, Johnson, Andoh, and Mudireddy ran 3:26.72 to place fourth.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Andoh, Smith, Gonzalez, and First year Hebrew Norfleet ran 43.87 to place fifth.
Homer jumped 6.07m in long jump to place 12th. Wilson placed 15th with a jump of 5.97m.
Graduate student John Geniti jumped 3.73m in pole vault to place 14th.
Johnson placed 28th in the 200 meters with a time of 23.07. Gonzalez ran 23.36 to place 40th. Wood placed 59th, running 24.12. Hayes placed 64th with a time of 24.37. Moya-Moore ran 24.77 to place 72nd.
Junior John Hegarty ran 16:59.85 in the 5000 meter run to place 18th.
Senior Benjamin Bouselli placed 25th in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:29.58.
First year Sam Favazza ran 4:24.75 in the 1500 meter to place 30th.
Travers placed 42nd in discus with a throw of 33.60m. Iglesias threw 27.80m to place 63rd. Gibson placed 67th with a throw of 26.83m. Gibson also placed 55th in shot put with a throw of 10.49m.
Senior Luke Stimely placed 60th in javelin with a throw of 21.01m.
McDaniel will return to action at Millersville for the Millersville Invitational on Saturday, April 18th.
