COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The McDaniel College men's basketball team scored 47 points in the second half of an 81-62 loss at Ursinus in the first round of the 2026 Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Championship on Tuesday.
The Green Terror (16-10) fell behind early before a layup from senior
David Kearney cut the deficit to 10-6 with 13:01 remaining in the first half.
The Bears (18-8) rattled off 14-straight points and ended the half on an 8-3 run to lead 34-15 at intermission.
A basket at the 9:58 mark of the second half gave Ursinus its largest lead of the night before McDaniel rallied late. Junior
Bruce Black capped a 10-0 Green Terror run with free throws with just over two minutes remaining in the game.
Kearney scored 23 points on 10-of-20 shooting, totaling seven rebounds and three steals. He scored 10 points in the game's final 3:30 as Ursinus advanced to Friday's semifinals.

Matt Kearney finished with nine points off the bench in 22 minutes while junior
Ryan Shaffer connected on 2-of-5 three-point attempts for eight points while Black scored five points and tallied four assists.
The Bears won the rebounding battle, 41-26, while scoring 16 points off second-chance opportunities and 18 points on fast breaks. McDaniel shot over 51 percent from the floor in the second half, making 18-of-35 field goals, including 5-of-13 on three-pointers.
The Green Terror will now await selections for the 2026 ECAC Division III Men's Basketball Championship which is scheduled to take place March 7-8 and March 14-15 on campus sites.
