McDaniel Erases 16-Point Deficit in 53-52 Road Win Over Mules

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Sophomore Lauren Cavoli scored 14 points and tallied six assists to help the McDaniel College women's basketball team erase a 16-point deficit and defeat Muhlenberg 53-52 on Saturday.

The Green Terror (19-6, 8-6) conclude the regular season with 19 wins, the team's highest single-season total since the 2015-16 season. McDaniel won 21 games that season and advanced to the Centennial Conference championship game.

The Mules (10-15, 5-10) started strong in the first quarter, opening the contest on a 12-4 run. After a layup from junior Raegan Lenz cut the deficit to four, Muhlenberg rattled off a 10-1 run to increase the lead to 22-9 with 1:14 left in the period. The Mules grabbed their largest lead of the game midway through the second quarter, hitting a three-pointer to go up 16 with 4:14 before half. The Green Terror responded with threes from sophomore Kendra Mason and Cavoli, but Muhlenberg headed into the break with a 33-22 lead.

McDaniel opened the third quarter on an 8-0 run to cut the deficit down to three, taking its first lead of the contest following a three-pointer from first year Peyton Cramer to go up 36-35 with 5:05 remaining in the quarter. The Mules responded with nine straight points, clinging to a 44-39 cushion after three.

The Green Terror outscored Muhlenberg 14-8 in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback. A Lenz layup with 7:02 to play put the visitors ahead by one, part of an 11-0 run that eventually grew the McDaniel lead to six, 50-44. The Mules again answered with an 8-0 run to retake the lead, but a Cavoli three-pointer with 1:50 left pushed the Green Terror in front 53-52, a score that would hold over the game's final moments.

Cavoli connected on 4-of-10 three pointers for 14 points while totaling six assists and four steals. Lenz scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out four assists while senior Elaina Beckett and junior Teya McConnaha each scored seven points.

The Green Terror have secured the fifth seed in the 2026 Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Championship; the team will travel to Carlisle, Pa. on Tuesday to face fourth-seeded Dickinson in the opening round. Tip-off time has yet to be announced.
