Seniors Lead in 71-29 Win Over Bryn Mawr in Home Finale

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Seniors Elaina BeckettLily Hines and Jordan McLean combined to score 30 points in a 71-29 home win for the McDaniel College women's basketball team over Bryn Mawr on Senior Day.
 
Beckett's 20-point effort gave her 1,373 career points to remain in fifth place on the all-time scoring list for the Green Terror (18-5, 7-5). She will need two points to tie Kathi Snyder '99 for fourth place.
 
Before the game, the three seniors were honored with a pregame ceremony for Senior Day.

McDaniel took command of the game in the first quarter, opening on a 25-3 run and ending the first frame with a 31-7 lead. Beckett scored 10 of her 20 points in the first quarter while the team converted on 14-of-19 field goals. The Green Terror continued their surge with an 18-point second quarter, heading into halftime with a 49-14 advantage over the Owls (5-18, 1-12).
 
A fourth quarter layup from first year Zion Oge with 6:24 remaining in the game gave the Green Terror their largest lead of the afternoon at 48. Bryn Mawr battled back in the fourth with an 8-0 run but a layup from Hines in the final minutes closed the door on a 71-29 home win on Senior Day.
 
Beckett led all scorers with 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting, collecting six rebounds and five steals in the win. First Year Peyton Cramer tied her career-high with 10 points off the bench on 4-of-7 shooting while junior Raegan Lenz scored seven points, grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds and totaled six assists.
 
McDaniel scored 22 points off 23 Bryn Mawr turnovers and controlled the boards, 43-30. The Green Terror reserves scored 30 points while the team dominated in the paint, outscoring the Owls 40-18.
 
The Green Terror travel to Gettysburg on Wednesday to battle the rival Bullets. Tip-off is slated for 6 pm.
