WESTMINSTER, Md. – Sophomore
Ashenafi Stuart hit a three-pointer from half court as time expired to complete a 18-point comeback win for the McDaniel College men's basketball team over Dickinson 66-64 on Saturday for Senior Day.
With the win, the Green Terror (15-8, 5-6) moved into sole possession of sixth place in the Centennial Conference standings, improving by a half game over Muhlenberg with two regular season games to play. The top six teams earn bids to the 2026 Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Championship.
The win was the fourth-in-a-row for McDaniel and the team's first four-game winning streak in conference play since 2015-16, when the Green Terror defeated Ursinus, Johns Hopkins, Haverford and Washington College in succession.

The Red Devils (6-17, 3-8) jumped out to a 14-5 lead with 13:13 left in the first half. A 7-0 McDaniel run cut the deficit to two, but Dickinson rallied with a 14-3 run of its own to grow the lead to 12, 27-15. The Red Devils earned their largest lead of the half on a fast-break layup with 1:45 to play to go up 18. A three-pointer with 16 seconds left in the half put the visitors up 17 at intermission, 40-23.
A Dickinson jump shot at the 16:59 mark of the second half kept the Red Devil lead at 17, but an 8-0 Green Terror run over the next two minutes cut the deficit to nine. Dickinson responded with free throws to increase its lead to 16 with 11:36 remaining.
McDaniel then answered with an 18-0 run over the next six minutes to wipe away the deficit and take a two-point lead, forcing seven Red Devil turnovers and three missed three-pointers during the run. Dickinson tied the game at 59-59 and took the lead with 2:44 left following a made tip-in, but Kearney converted a three-point play to give the lead back to the Green Terror. A three-point play from Dickinson gave the visitors a 64-63 lead with three seconds left in regulation, but Stuart drilled a three-pointer from half court as the buzzer sounded to give McDaniel a thrilling 66-64 win on Senior Day.
Kearney led all scorers with 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting, grabbing five rebounds and four steals in the win. Stuart finished with 13 points off the bench, converting 2-of-5 three pointers and totaling six rebounds.
The Green Terror travel to Gettysburg on Wednesday to battle the rival Bullets. Tip-off is slated for 8 pm.
