Lauren Cavoli scored a game-high 18 points while junior
Teya McConnaha secured her third double-double of the season to lead the McDaniel College women's basketball team to a 57-47 win over Swarthmore Saturday on Rebecca L. Martin Court.
The win was the eighth in-a-row for the Green Terror (15-1, 4-1 CC) and their third-straight over the Garnet.
Garnet (4-10, 1-5 CC)
After Swarthmore scored the game's first three points, McDaniel rallied with an 11-0 run over the next five minutes. Back-to-back Garnet baskets with under two minutes left closed the gap to four at the end of the first quarter, 13-9.
McDaniel opened the second frame with a 10-2 run, highlighted by baskets from senior

Jordan McLean, and junior
Carli Vogel. A Cavoli layup at the 2:12 mark gave the Green Terror their largest lead at 15.
Swarthmore (4-10, 1-5 CC) cut the deficit to 12, but a made free throw by Beckett with five seconds left gave the hosts a 35-22 lead at halftime.
McDaniel maintained a strong lead throughout the third quarter with Cavoli connecting on the team's first three-pointer of the contest with 1:17 remaining. Another Cavoli jumper with seven seconds left pushed the lead to 46-32 after the third quarter.
Swarthmore made a late push in the fourth, cutting the deficit to nine with 6:47 to play. Cavoli followed with her second three-pointer at the 6:28 mark, nailing her third with exactly 5:00 left on the clock to put McDaniel in front, 54-41.
McConnaha posted her second-straight double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Beckett added 14 points, converting 6-of-8 free throws. Junior
Raegan Lenz had three blocks, five assists, and five rebounds.
The Green Terror scored 27 points on the 22 Swarthmore turnovers.
McDaniel continues its three-game home stand on Wednesday when its hosts No. 5 Johns Hopkins for a 6 p.m. tip-off in a match-up of the top two teams in the Centennial Conference. The teams are a combined 29-1 this season, including 9-1 in conference contests.
