CARLISLE, Pa. - McDaniel College men's cross country senior
Jack Sears placed fourth in the 8K at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational Saturday, setting a new program course record with a time of 26:08.9.
The Green Terror placed eighth out of 18 teams with 77 points. Messiah took home the team title with 19 points, four ahead of Misericordia. Gettysburg finished sixth with 57 points and Dickinson came in seventh with 70 points.
Sears' time broke the school course record previously held by Gavin Gibson in 2016 by 38 seconds. Sears also turned in the 18th fastest 8K time in school history and now holds five of the top 20 times in program history.
Sophomore
Parker Foster placed 57th with a time of 29:31.7 followed by first-year
Isaac Greeson in 63rd with a time of 29:44.9. Sophomore
Ethan Bush finished 84th with a time of 30:38.4 and first-year
Sam Favazza rounded out the McDaniel scorers with a time of 32:36.7.
In the 4K race, McDaniel placed 11th out of 14 teams. Sophomore
Zac Kane led the way with a time of 15:14.1 to place 74th. Junior
Fabrizzio Verano Valderrama came in 77th with a time of 15:20.8 while first-year
Ethan Reyes clocked in with a time of 16:00.3 to place 83rd.
Sophomore
Simon Greenberg finished in 17:10.4 and first-year
Aden Flaherty rounded out the McDaniel scorers with a time of 17:32.6.
McDaniel returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial at Belmont Plateau.
