ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The McDaniel College men's cross country teams faced off against a competitive field at the Cantello Invitational hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy on Saturday.
The meet featured top talent from Division I and III, providing an early-season test for the Green Terror.
Senior Jack Sears led the Green Terror in the men's 4.9-mile varsity race, approximately 8K, with a 17th-place finish in a time of 26:21.6. He was the second-highest Division III finisher in the field and his time was the third-fastest finish on the course in team history.
Freshman Isaac Greeson placed second for the Green Terror, crossing the line in 51st place with a time of 29:30.3. He was followed closely by senior Ethan Bush in 57th place with a personal-best time of 29:53.4. Junior Zac Kane rounded out McDaniel's top four with a time of 32:21.7.
McDaniel, who faced programs from Navy, UMBC, and Loyola Maryland, return to action on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational hosted by Dickinson College, site of this year's NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Championships.
