EMMITSBURG, Md. - Senior Jack Sears reset the program record in the 5k to lead the McDaniel College men's cross country team as it opened the season on Friday at the Mount St. Mary's 5k Duals.

The Green Terror placed sixth with a team score of 152. 

Sears placed seventh with a time of 15:59.8, resetting his own program record set in 2023. This lowered the previous record by 18 seconds and he now holds the three fastest times in program history.

Sophomore Parker Foster ran a time of 17:45.1 to place 46th while first-year Isaac Greeson placed 49th in a time of 17:50.8. Senior Ethan Bush crossed the line in 17:56.1 to place 51st and first-year Sam Favazza finished with a time of 19:07.6 to round out the top five.

Junior Zac Kane had a time of 19:20.8 and junior Fabrizzio Verano Valderrama finished in 19:59.9 to complete the scorers.

First-year Ethan Reyes ran a time of 20:37.3, junior Kaydan Batty crossed the line in 21:46.3 and senior Simon Greenburg finished ini 24:04.5.

The Green Terror return to action next Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Dutchmen Invitational hosted by Lebanon Valley.
