Leone Earns Silver, Resets Program Record at CC Championships

COLLEGEVILLE Pa. - Sophomore Sophia Leone earned a silver medal in the pole vault as the McDaniel College women's track & field team began competition at the 2025 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Ursinus.

The Green Terror currently sit in third place with 10 points, just two points behind Dickinson. Johns Hopkins leads after three events with 66 points.

Leone placed second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.30m (10' 10") to improves her current program record fo the fourth time this season. Freshman Tara Hornung placed seventh with a mark of 3.15m (10' 4") while junior Summer James placed 17th with a jump of 2.55m (8' 4.25") and freshman Allie Rolek placed 18th with a mark of 2.40m (7' 10.5").

Junior Kate Principio placed 16th in the hammer throw with a mark of 30.10m (98' 9").

Day two of the conference meet gets underway at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
