ELIZABETHTOWN Pa. – The Women's Track & Field team made one last stop before the Centennial Conference Championships. They competed at the Blue Jay Tune-Up hosted by Elizabethtown.
The Green Terror placed eighth in the 17 team meet with a score of 29. Scranton won the meet with 171 points.
Sophomore Sophia Leone placed second in pole vault with a mark of 3.22m (10-6.75). Freshman Tara Hornung placed third with a mark of 3.07m (10-0.75). Junior Summer James jumped 2.47m (8-1.25) to place 10th. Junior Allie Rolek jumped 2.32m (7-7.25) to place eleventh.
Sophomore Maya Colavito placed second in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 13:43.66.
The 4x800 meter relay of Junior Piper Nagaraj, Colavito, Junior Abby Warner, and Junior Anna Kale placed third running 11:43.72.
Junior Anna Rando placed eighth in long jump with a mark of 4.90m (16-1). She also placed tenth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.62.
Junior Kate Principio placed tenth in discus with a throw of 28.50m (93-6). Graduate Student Samantha Vogel threw 21.71m (71.2) to place 24th. Vogel placed 19th in javelin with a throw of 21.30m (69-10). Principio placed 23rd in shot put with a throw of 7.60m (24-11.25). Vogel threw 7.33m (24-0.75) to place 25th. Freshman Madison Alexander placed 30th with a mark of 6.23m (20-5.25)
Freshman Nakayla Ross placed eleventh in the 100 meter with a time of 13.31. Freshman Jazmeen Yelverton ran 14.35 to place 25th. Ross placed 16th in the 200 meters with a time of 27.92. Yelverton ran 29.28 to place 28th.
Kale placed 19th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:32.71. Warner placed 33rd with a time of 6:16.47.
Nagaraj ran 68.78 in the 400 meters to place 22nd.
The Green Terror will return to action for the Centennial Conference Championship hosted by Ursinus College, the meet with start Friday May 2nd.
