WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Senior
Vaishali Bhatt sits in 14th place to lead the McDaniel College women's golf team after the first round of the Centennial Conference Women's Golf Championship Saturday at Waynesboro Country Club.
The Green Terror are in fourth place with a 401. Marymount (VA) holds the lead after the first round with a 332, three strokes ahead of Gettysburg. Franklin & Marshall is third with a 375.
Gettysburg's Lucy Barton holds the individual lead following an opening round 78, two strokes ahead of Kate Parsons from Marymount (VA).
Bhatt carded a 96, her lowest total over six rounds in four conference championship appearances.

Abby Wesche sits one stroke behind Bhatt with a 97. Playing in her first conference championship, freshman
Emily Landau shot a 101 to place 18th
Junior
Dariel Gray also shot a 107 to place 20th, setting a new personal best in two rounds and two championship appearances.
Making her third championship appearance, junior
Callie Nelson carded a 111 and currently sits in 25th.
The second and final round gets underway on Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
