ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Senior
Abby Wesche totaled four pars to lead the McDaniel College women's golf team in the first round of the McDaniel Spring Invitational on Saturday at The Bridges Golf Club.
The Green Terror currently sit in 10th place after totaling a 436. Catholic is in first place after 18 holes at 343, 15 strokes ahead of second-place Gettysburg. Just seven strokes separate second through fifth place with Stevenson in third at 359, Franklin & Marshall in fourth at 364, and St. John Fisher in fifth at 365.
Wesche sits alone in 23rd after carding an opening round 94. She had two pars on the front nine and two on the back.
First-year
Molly Weaver is in a four-way tie for 40th following a 104 which included the team's only birdie, that coming on the par-4, 295-yard 14th.
Sophomore
Emily Landau is in a two-way tie for 51st after a 114 while first-year
Lena Black, also a member of the women's wrestling team, sits in 54th after carding a 116 in her collegiate debut. Senior
Callie Nelson is in a three-way tie for 55th following a 124. First-year
Maggie Johnson totaled a 131.
