WESTMINSTER, Md. - Senior
Jason Fritz scored his 100th career goal and 200th career point to highlight a 19-8 loss to Muhlenberg on Saturday in the final home game of the season for the McDaniel College men's lacrosse team.
Fritz finished totaled five points with two goals and three assists to lead the Green Terror (4-12, 0-7 CC) while sophomore
Zach Olvey had a career-high 17 saves.
With an assist to graduate student
Nick Wingo for first goal of the game with 10:53 remaining in the first quarter, Fritz became the 12th player in program history to total 200 career points. On his first goal with 13:51 left in the second quarter, Fritz became the 15th player in program history with 100 career goals.
Most notably, Fritz became just the sixth player in program history, and first since Gibbs Preston in 2010, to total 100 career goals and 100 career assists.
After the Mules (9-7, 5-2 CC) scored first just over three minutes into the game, McDaniel scored three consecutive goals, all assisted by Fritz, to take 3-1 lead with 8:16 to play in the opening quarter.
Muhlenberg responded with back-to-back tallies to tie the game at 3-3 before the first quarter ended with the score tied at 4-4.
Back-to-back goals by Fritz to start the second put the Green Terror back in front, but the Mules scored the final five and took a 9-6 halftime lead.
Wingo netted his third goal of the game to start the third quarter before assisting on the second goal from sophomore
Carter Youtz as McDaniel pulled within one, 9-8, with 7:15 remaining in the third.
However, that would be as close as the Green Terror would get as the visitors finished the game on a 10-0 run, scoring eight in the final quarter.
Wingo had three goals and one assist in his final home game while senior
Sean Maruschak had one assist. Olvey made eight of his 17 saves in the opening quarter and 11 in the first half.
McDaniel concludes its 2025 season next Saturday, April 26 at Ursinus. Face-off is at 3 p.m.
