COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Sophomore
Aidan Skelly tied a career high with four goals as the McDaniel College men's lacrosse team closed out the season with a 14-9 Centennial Conference road loss to Ursinus Saturday at Patterson Field.
 The Green Terror (4-13, 0-8 CC) totaled 41 shots, 30 ground balls, and 12 face-off wins, the most in a conference game this season.
The difference in the game came in the first quarter as the Bears outscored the visitors, 5-0. They had 14 shots, held a 16-8 advantage in ground balls, and won 5-of-6 face-offs.
Each team scored nine goals over the final three quarters while McDaniel won 11 of the final 20 face-offs and won the turnover battle, 13-9.
However, the Green Terror could only get as close as four following a natural hat-trick by Skelly in the second quarter. Trailing 8-1 with 5:56 remaining in the second quarter, Skelly scored three consecutive goals, each assisted by a different player, the last coming with 31 seconds left to pull the team within four at halftime, 8-4.
Ursinus (5-9, 3-5 CC) scored three of the four goals in the third quarter to push its lead back to six after three, 11-5.
Senior
Jason Fritz finished with three points on one goal and two assists while adding two ground balls. He concludes his career with 102 goals, 105 assists, and 207 points in 59 career games. He is ranked 10th in program history in points, 13th in goals and eighth in assists.
Sophomore
Zach Olvey made 12 saves, totaling at least 10 for the fourth game in a row and the 12th time in 17 games this season.
