WESTMINSTER, Md. - Gettysburg used an 11-run first inning and four total home runs to outlast the McDaniel College baseball team 21-17 to wrap up a home-and-home on Friday from Preston Field.

After each team added a run in the second, 10 more combined runs came across the plate in the third inning. The Bullets scored four in the top half, highlighted by the team's second three-run homer of the game. A 16-9 Gettysburg lead was cut down to one in the bottom of the third, as a McKenna RBI double kicked off a rally that saw RBI hits from freshmen
Thomas Mezzullo and
Henry Novario, as well as another two-run hit on a double from Hubinger. Novario's RBI hit made the score 16-15 after three.
A scoreless fourth paved the way for the Green Terror to tie the game at 16-16 in the fifth on an RBI double from Fuller. Sophomore
Ethan Haddock gave McDaniel the lead on an RBI single in the sixth to score Davis, giving the home team a 17-16 edge after trailing by as much as 11 earlier in the game.
