WESTMINSTER, Md. - Senior
Jason Fritz picked up his 100th career assists as the McDaniel College men's lacrosse team fell to No. 8 Gettysburg inside Gill Stadium Wednesday, 21-3.
The Green Terror (4-11, 0-6 CC) faced their second-straight nationally ranked opponent and third this season.
Fritz finished with one goal and one assist and now has 199 career points with 99 goals and 100 assists. He is just the ninth player in program history to total 100 career assists.
With one more goal, Fritz will be the 15th to score 100 career goals and just the sixth to total 100 goals and 100 assists. He will also become only the 12th in school history to total 200 points.
Fritz picked up his 100th assist on McDaniel's first goal of the game with 5:10 remaining in the third quarter when junior
Ryan Smith netted his fifth goal of the season.
Fritz then added his team-leading 23rd goal and 48th point of the season with 3:24 to play in the fourth before graduate student
Nick Wingo added his 13th to cap the scoring with 1:28 left.
The Bullets (10-3, 6-0 CC) scored the game's first 13 goals, including 11 in the first half. Gettysburg had a total of 20 players register a point, including 13 with at least one goal.
Sophomore
Zach Olvey faced 58 shots and had 14 saves, 12 of which came in the first half, including eight in the second half.
The Green Terror host Muhlenberg in their final home game of the season Saturday on Senior Day. Face-off is at 3 p.m.
