ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Junior
Abby Wesche shot a career-best 83 to lead the McDaniel College women's golf team in the second and final round of the McDaniel Spring Invitational on Sunday.
The Green Terror totaled a 381, just four strokes of its season-best, and finished fourth out of seven teams with a two-day total of 783.
McDaniel finished third out of four teams from the Centennial Conference. Gettysburg won the team title with a 680 while Franklin & Marshall finished second at 739. Dickinson finished fifth with an 842.
Wesche shaved six strokes off her opening round 89 and totaled nine pars. Her previous career low was 85 shot at the Franklin & Marshall Fall Invitational on Sept. 17, 2023 when she finished third.
SeniorÂ
Vaishali Bhatt claimed a top-20 finish as she placed 14th with a two-day total of 193, including a second-round 94. She began her day with a birdie on the par-4, 356-yard first hole and was 1-under through three holes. She finished the day with one birdie and four pars.
Junior
Dariel Gray also shot a career low on Sunday with a 103, besting her previous mark by three strokes. She finished 21st with a 209.
Junior
Callie Nelson placed 24th with a 213, improving three strokes over Saturday's opening-round 108.
Freshman
Emily Landau rounded out the top five for McDaniel as she finished 26th with a 219 which included a 17-stroke improvement on Sunday with a 101.
The Green Terror return to action next Saturday, April 5 in the Dickinson Spring Invitational at Carlisle Barracks Golf Course.
