Leone Resets Program Record at Doc Jopson Invitational

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Sophomore Sophia Leone reset her own pole vault program record as the McDaniel College women's outdoor track & field team opened its season on day one of the Doc Jopson Invitational hosted by Bridgewater College.

Leone posted a jump of 3.18m (10' 5") while freshman Tara Hornung placed seventh with a mark of 2.58m (8' 5.5").

Freshman Gabby DeMarco placed sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.08m (33' 0.75").

Graduate student Samantha Vogel placed eighth in the javelin with a mark of 18.16m (62' 1.5").

Junior Kate Principio placed 16th in the discus with a mark of 25.06m (82' 2.5") while Vogel placed 18th with a throw of 22.08m (72' 5.25").

The Green Terror continue competition on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
