Will Beacham had three goals, four assists and seven points, all career highs, as the McDaniel College men's lacrosse team posted a 20-1 win at Centenary Tuesday.
The Green Terror (4-4) scored 20 goals in a road win against the Cyclones for the second-straight season after posting a 20-2 victory a year ago.
A total of 19 players scored at least one point for the visitors, four of whom recorded their first of the season, including freshman
Adam Dengler whose goal with 8:10 remaining in the fourth was the first of his career.
The Green Terror had 13 different goal scorers with senior
Joe Kieffer and junior
Nate Yelle finding the back of the net for the first time this season.
Senior
Jason Fritz also netted a hat trick as he finished with three goals and one assist for four points. In 50 career games, he now has 92 goals and 89 assists for 181 points.
Centenary (0-4) scored the game's first goal less than two minutes in on its first shot before McDaniel scored 20 unanswered to post its third-straight win, all on the road.
Fritz scored three of the first five goals for the Green Terror to record his 17th career hat trick and third this season. Beacham had a goal and two assists as the visitors led 7-1 after the first quarter.
McDaniel added seven more tallies in the second to take a 14-1 lead at halftime as it out-shot the Cyclones, 36-3. The Green Terror also won 15-of-17 face-offs and held a 26-6 advantage in ground balls.
Junior
TJ Bunce was a perfect 9-for-9 on face-offs and picked up four ground balls as well as his second career assist and third career point on Yelle's goal with 8:02 left in the second. Senior
Justin Long won a career-high eight face-offs and had three ground balls.
McDaniel used four goalies in the contest, including sophomore
Joey Nicholson and freshman
Sam Cook who made their first career appearances and totaled one save each.
The Green Terror begin Centennial Conference play on Friday when they travel to Haverford. Opening face-off is set for 7 p.m. The last two meetings between the two teams have been decided by just four goals, including last year's which saw the Fords escape Westminster with a 12-11 victory after scoring the final two goal in the last three minutes.
