BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The McDaniel College baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader at Bridgewater on Sunday, falling in the series finale on another walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth.
The Green Terror (0-3) had chances to win both games, but fell victim to late offense by the Eagles.
Bridgewater 7, McDaniel 3 (Game 1)
The Eagles (3-1) took a 1-0 lead after an RBI-single in the first, but McDaniel rallied to tie the game in the fifth and take the lead with two runs in the seventh. Sophomore

Joey Hubinger followed with an RBI single of his own moments later to give the Green Terror a 3-1 lead.
The Eagles secured the win with a six-run eighth inning. Bridgewater started the inning by loading the bases with a single and two walks, tying the game at 3-3 after another RBI single. A bases-loaded walk followed by two more RBI singles pushed the Eagles ahead 7-3 all before McDaniel could record an out.
The Green Terror put two runners on base in the ninth but could not score either as the Eagles closed out game one.
Hubinger had a strong day at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBI. Haddock got on base three times with two hits and a walk while Daly went 3-for-4, scoring two runs.
Freshman
Kurtis MacKenzie pitched three innings, giving up one run and striking out three. Sophomore
Dominic DiBlasi finished with three scoreless innings in relief and four strikeouts.
Bridgewater 7, McDaniel 6 (Game 2)
Bridgewater scored first after four scoreless innings with a two-run homer in the fifth. McDaniel tied the game in the sixth after Haddock and Hubinger scored on back-to-back wild pitches, but the Eagles would respond in the bottom half of the inning with four runs.
A two-RBI single followed by a sacrifice fly gave Bridgewater a 5-2 lead, and the Eagles scored their final run of the inning on another wild pitch.
McDaniel rallied to tie the game at 6-6 in the seventh after walks from Hubinger and junior
Ben Davis led to two Green Terror runs. Sophomore
Shea McKenna tied the game with a two-RBI single to center field.
The game remained tied into the ninth until the Eagles secured their second walk-off win in as many days after a solo shot off senior
Max Vener.
McKenna finished game two with two hits in five at-bats and two RBI. Hubinger and Davis each had an RBI while Haddock scored twice.
Sophomore
Ryan Buecker pitched two scoreless innings to start the game, only allowing a single baserunner.
The Green Terror host their first home series of the 2025 season when Skidmore comes to town on Saturday for a doubleheader. First pitch from Preston Field is at 11:30 a.m.
