WESTMINSTER, Md. - Sophomore
Aidan Skelly scored four goals and six points, both career highs, as the McDaniel College men's lacrosse team opened the season with a 15-3 victory over Gwynedd Mercy Saturday at Gill Stadium.

Skelly totaled four goals and two assists, scoring the game-winning goal with just nine seconds remaining in the first quarter as McDaniel led 4-0 after one. The Green Terror scored the game's first seven goals, with two from Skelly and three from graduate student
AJ Johnson.
Johnson scored three of the team's first six goals, completing the hat-trick with 2:39 left in the second quarter.
The Griffins (0-1) got on the board with back-to-back tallies just three seconds apart in the final minute of the first half. Ian Kish scored with 34 seconds to play before picking up an assist on Josh Devine's first goal of the season with 31 seconds remaining.
Leading 7-2 at halftime, McDaniel scored the first four goals of the third quarter to expand its lead nine, 11-2 with 5:34 left. Skelly had a hand in three of them with two goals and one assist.
Senior
Jason Fritz became the third Green Terror to record a hat-trick on opening day when he scored his third of the game with 3:40 to play in the third. The goal was the first of four-straight for McDaniel who outscored the visitors 3-0 in the fourth.
Freshman
Clancy Brosius scored the first goal of his career with 2:26 remaining to provide the final margin of victory.
Nine different players scored for the Green Terror, including seven goal scorers. Johnson and Fritz each finished with three goals and one assist while graduate student
Nick Wingo had two goals and two assists. Fritz now has 155 career points with 79 goals and 76 assists.
McDaniel held a 57-28 advantage in shots and scored on 3-of-5 man-up opportunities. Sophomore
Zach Olvey had a career-high 10 saves in his first career start, earning his first career win in just under 50 minutes of action.
The Green Terror travel to Ashland, VA on Tuesday to take on Randolph-Macon beginning at 3:30 p.m.
