Elaina Beckett had 16 points and six rebounds to lead the McDaniel College women's basketball team in a 64-50 loss to No. 15 Johns Hopkins Wednesday night on Rebecca L. Martin Court.
The Green Terror (15-7, 6-4 CC) suffered their first loss in nine home games this season as the Blue Jays led 41-20 at the end of the first half.

Teya McConnaha added 10 points and also grabbed a team-high six rebounds while senior
Lil Overcash had eight points, three rebounds and two assists.
Johns Hopkins (19-3, 11-1 CC) held a slim 5-3 lead less than three minutes in before scoring 14 of the final 19 points to take a 19-8 lead after one. The visitors shot 58.3 percent from the floor and scored 10 of their 19 points in the paint.
The Blue Jays stretched their lead to as many as 23 points in the second and led by 21 at the break after scoring 12 points off 13 McDaniel turnovers and 11 off nine offensive rebounds. Hopkins also made 12-of-18 free throw attempts.
The game featured 42 fouls and 55 free throw attempts with the Blue Jays hitting 22-of-33 attempts from the free throw line. The visitors also held a 45-31 advantage in rebounds and grabbed 20 on the offensive end which led to 16 second-chance points.
Beckett scored 10 of her game-high 16 points in the second half as the Green Terror outscored Hopkins 30-23 and shot 52.2 percent from the floor compared to 30.0 percent in the first half.
McDaniel travels to Bryn Mawr on Saturday for its final road game of the regular season. Tip-off is at 1 p.m.
