Four Players in Double Figures Lead McDaniel Past York (PA)

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Led by 21 points from senior Elaina Beckett, the McDaniel College women's basketball team placed four players in double figures en route to a 74-56 win over York (Pa.) Tuesday night on Rebecca L. Martin Court.

The Green Terror (3-0) have won three-straight games to open the season for the third consecutive year.

Beckett scored at least 20 points for the second-straight game and the 15th time in her career. She also added five rebounds, six assists, and three steals. She now has 1,061 points in 73 career games, leaving her 11 points shy of tying 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Katy Powell '07 for 15th on the program's all-time points list.

Junior Teya McConnaha totaled 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds while reigning Centennial Conference Athlete of the Week, junior Raegan Lenz, totaled 12 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Junior Carli Vogel also scored in double figures, totaling 10 points, one shy of her career high, on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting from he floor.

McDaniel scored 46 of its 74 points in the paint and 24 off 19 Spartan turnovers. Through three games this season, the team is averaging 22.0 points off turnovers.

York (0-1) held a one-point lead after one, 12-11, before the Green Terror erupted for 30 second-quarter points on 12-of-16 shooting for 75.0 percent. They scored 16 points in the paint and 14 off turnovers. Beckett had eight points while McConnaha and Vogel added six each.

McConnaha led all players with 11 points and seven rebounds at the half as McDaniel led 41-27.

The Green Terror stretched their lead to as many as 27 points in the second half with all 14 players seeing action.

McDaniel has a quick turnaround as it will head to St. Mary's (Md.) on Thursday for a 6 p.m. tip-off with the Seahawks. It will mark the first meeting between the two schools in almost 10 years, since Jan. 4, 2016.
