Dylan Muso carded a career-low, 1-under par 70 in the third and final round on Tuesday to lead the McDaniel College men's golf team to a ninth-place finish in the West Pines Collegiate at West Pines Golf Club.
The Green Terror finished with an 880 over 54 holes which included a 292 on Tuesday, their best round of the tournament. They finished two strokes behind Drew and in back of Hampden-Sydney. Rhodes won the team title with an 854, nine strokes ahead of No. 21 Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Just two strokes separated the teams who finished third through sixth as Piedmont totaled an 867 while Southern Virginia and No. 3 Ogelthorpe tied for fourth at 868 and Shenandoah finished sixth at 869.
Mary Hardin-Baylor's Colton O'Dell earned low medalist honors with a 7-under par 206, one stroke ahead of Parker Tenent of Rhodes. Tenent's teammate, Christian Iwai, finished third with a 208.
Muso tied his career best round, equaling the mark he set in the first round of The Northeast Elite on Sept. 29. It was his third career round in which he shot even par or better. He finished in a tie for 16th with a 3-over par 217 after totaling 10 pars and four birdies in the final round.
Senior Charlie Dolan finished one shot behind Muso, finishing in a tie for 22nd with a 4-over par 218. He carded a 2-over par 72 in the final round with 12 pars and two birdies.
Senior Sean Kelly placed 22nd with a 220 which was three strokes off his career 54-hole best 217 set at the Transy Fall Invite earlier this season. He finished 29th on Tuesday after a 3-over par 74 which included 10 pars and three birdies.
Senior Ethan Crabb and first-year Jack Manfre finished in a tie for 73rd with a 230. Crabb shot a 78 for the second-straight round with eight pars and two birdies while Manfre improved eight spots in the final round after he carded his best round of the tournament with a 75, including eight pars and three birdies.
First-year Braden Paris finished with a 241 after carding a career-low 77, tying his mark set in the Susquehanna Fall Invitational on September 18. He finished Tuesday's final round with six pars and three birdies.
McDaniel returns to action on Saturday in the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic at Waynesboro Country Club in Waynesboro, Pa.
