LEXINGTON, Ky. - Sophomore Dylan Muso led the McDaniel College men's golf team who opened its 2026-27 season at the Transylvania Fall Invite on Saturday and Sunday at the University Club of Kentucky.
The Green Terror finished 13th with a 54-hole team total of 882, including a 287 in Sunday's final round which was one stroke off its final round total in the same event a year ago.
Mary Hardin-Baylor won the team title with an 841 which was 23 strokes under par. The Crusaders had four golfers finish under par in the top-20.
Muso led McDaniel with an even par 216 to finish in a three-way tie for 22nd. His 54-hole total was one stroke off his career low set at the 53rd Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate April 10-12, 2026. He carded a three-under par 69 in the final round with five birdies and 11 pars.
First-year Miguel Gutierrez placed 27th in his collegiate debut with a 2-over par 218. After an opening round 5-over par 77, he rebounded to shoot a 2-under par 70 in the second round and a 1-under par 71 in Sunday's final round.
Junior Braden Paris finished 65th with a 227, first-year Jack McDougall placed 69th with a 228, and first-year Landon Van Loon was 74th with a 229.
McDaniel returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 16 when the B team participates in the Battle of the Beltway hosted by Stevenson at Pine Ridge Golf Course.
