LANCASTER, Pa. - McDaniel College men's golf first-year
Jack McDougall was named Centennial Conference Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.
It is the first career honor for McDougall and fourth for the Green Terror in the last two seasons.
McDaniel has had five different players combine for eight athlete of the week selections over the last four seasons, including
Ethan Crabb,
Sean Kelly,
Charlie Dolan, and Ryan McGarry.
McDougall totaled a three-over par 216 over 54 holes at the West Pines Collegiate in Douglasville, Ga. He finished in a tie for 24th among 128 competitors, leading the Green Terror to a 12th-place finish out of 23 teams.
Entering the West Pines Collegiate, McDougall had a 78.29 scoring average over his first seven career rounds. However, he shaved six strokes off his average in the Peach state, averaging a 72.00 over three rounds which included a one-under par 70 in the second with four birdies and 11 pars, five strokes better than his previous career low.
McDougall and the McDaniel A and B teams return to action on Saturday in the 36-hole Mason-Dixon Collegiate at Waynesboro Country Club.
