Noah Scores Sixth Goal, Field Hockey Falls to Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Sophomore Charley Noah scored her sixth goal of the season as the McDaniel College field hockey team fell on the road to Haverford 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Noah scored just three minutes into the third quarter on an assist from junior Kelsey Jennings following a penalty corner. Noah's six goals are the most for a Green Terror (4-6, 0-2) player in a season since Megan Quattrone scored 12 goals back in 2018.

The Fords (9-1, 3-0) opened the scoring in the first quarter on a goal at the 8:45 mark. Haverford took three shots in the opening frame, one of which was saved by junior Lora Scarangello. The Fords punched in two goals in less than two minutes late in the second quarter to grow the lead to 3-0 right before halftime.

Jennings opened the third quarter with a penalty corner at the 33rd minute, connecting with Noah on her sixth goal of the season to make the score 3-1. Haverford responded just over a minute later with their fourth goal of the afternoon, scoring off a rebound after a penalty corner. The Fords scored again over two minutes later and added a sixth goal with nine minutes left in the game to seal a conference win at home.

Noah took all five shots for McDaniel in the contest with all five coming in the second half. Jennings collected her third assist of the year off Noah's third-quarter score. Scarangello played all 60 minutes in the cage and totaled six saves on 30 shots faced, 12 of which were on goal.

The Green Terror start a two-game homestand on Wednesday when they host conference rival Washington College. Start time is set for 6 pm from Gill Stadium.
