CARLISLE, Pa. - Norah Heacock scored off a corner kick in the 30th minute for the game's lone goal as Dickinson edged out a 1-0 victory over the McDaniel College women's soccer team on Saturday at Miller Memorial Field.
The Green Terror (5-8-4, 2-5-2 CC) lost for the first time in the last six meetings against the Red Devils and the first time in Carlisle since Oct. 30, 2019.
Headed into Wednesday's regular season finale against Gettysburg at home, McDaniel sits just two points behind the Bullets who currently own the sixth and final spot in the 2025 Centennial Conference Women's Soccer Championship.
In her fifth start of the season and first since Oct. 8, first-year
Sierra Ruehl made eight saves, one shy of her career high set in her last start at Franklin & Marshall.
Ruehl totaled all eight of her saves over the final 70 minutes after Heacock scored off a corner kick on assists by Lila Brown and Joelle Ma.
The Devils (11-3-3, 6-1-1 CC), who sit in second place in the Centennial Conference standings and are ranked sixth in the United Soccer Coaches Region V rankings, have won seven in-a-row at home and are 8-1 at Miller Memorial Field this season.
Juniors
Sidda Mitchell and
Carly Brock combined for three of McDaniel's five shots, including both on goal. Pico Gray had a save in each half for Dickinson to earn her seventh shutout and 10th win this season.
The Green Terror hosts Gettysburg in its final home game of the season at the Soccer Complex on Wednesday. Kickoff is at 3 p.m.
