WILLIAMSBURG, Pa. - Senior
Charlie Dolan shot a 2-over par 73 to lead the McDaniel College men's golf team who sits in third place following the first round of The Melee on Sunday at Ford's Colony Country Club.
The Green Terror totaled a 297 and currently sits five strokes behind Bridgewater (Va.) and eight back of first-place Christopher Newport.
Christopher Newport's Nick Alexander holds the individual lead following a 1-under par 70. He was the lone player in the field of 60 to finish the opening round under par. Bridgewater's Walker Gillespie is in second following an even par 71.
Dolan is in a five-way tie for seventh after totaling 10 pars and three birdies. First-year
Dylan Muso and sophomore
Jack Manfre are tied for 12th after both shot a 3-over par 74. Muso had nine pars and three birdies while Manfre had 13 pars and one birdie.
Senior
Sean Kelly rounded out the team score with a 5-over par 76 to find himself in a four-way tie for 26th. He finished the front nine at 1-over and totaled eight pars and three birdies.
Senior
Ethan Crabb finds himself in 47th after and opening round 81.
McDaniel tees off in its final round of the fall on Monday beginning at 8:30 a.m.
