WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Seniors
Charlie Dolan and
Ethan Crabb combined to shoot 5-under par Saturday to lead the McDaniel College men's golf team in the first round of the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic at Waynesboro Country Club.
The Green Terror totaled a 287 and hold a three-stroke lead over Centennial Conference rival and host Gettysburg.
Dolan carded a 4-under par 68 with 12 pars and five birdies and sits in fourth place, one shot behind Gettysburg's Andrew Ekstrom and Daniel Casanta who are tied for the individual lead following a 5-under par 67.
Dolan was one shot of his career low set on Sept. 15, 2024 in the first round of The Gauntlet at Bucknell Golf Club.
Crabb shot a 1-under par 71 with seven pars and six birdies. His career low is 68 which he shot in the first round of The Northeast Elite on Sept. 28 at Williamsport Country Club.
First-year
Dylan Muso carded a 1-over par 73 and sits in 16th. He totaled nine pars and four birdies.
Senior
Sean Kelly is in 30th after a 3-over par 75 with nine pars and three birdies while sophomore
Jake Manfre sits in 85th after an 85. Playing as an individual, first-year
Max Doane is 81st following an 84.
The B team totaled a 317 and is 14th, highlighted by a 2-over par 74 from first-year
Braden Paris. Sophomore
Sam Telljohann carded a 7-over par 79.
Second round action gets underway on Sunday beginning at 8:00 a.m.
