BALTIMORE, Md. - Junior
Matt Kearney scored a career-high 11 points off the bench to lead the McDaniel College men's basketball team in a 65-41 road loss to Johns Hopkins on Wednesday night.
The Green Terror (11-5, 1-3) scored 28 points in the second half, making over 52 percent of their shots from the floor. The bench contributed a season-high 35 points, with seven bench players scoring at least one point.

Jonas Sujeta scored five in 16 minutes.
The Blue Jays (9-6, 4-0) exploded out of the gate with an 11-2 run to the start the first half. Johns Hopkins expanded the lead to 19-4 with just over 10 minutes left before three-pointers from Ayala Jr. and Sujeta cut the deficit to nine. The Blue Jays responded with a 16-3 run to end the half, closing the first 20 minutes with a 35-13 lead heading into halftime.
Kearney scored the first five points of the second half for McDaniel, but the Green Terror could not close the gap as the Blue Jays eventually grew their lead to 28 with 4:29 remaining. Johns Hopkins maintained a 20-point lead for the entire half and secured a 24-point win at home.
The Green Terror struggled offensively, shooting only 30.2 percent from the floor and making just three field goals in the first half. McDaniel made only 16.7 percent of its three-pointers and made 12-of-24 free throw attempts. The Blue Jays grabbed 11 more rebounds than the Green Terror and converted on all but one of their 17 free throws, shooting 94.1 percent from the line.
McDaniel returns home on Saturday to face Ursinus in another Centennial Conference clash. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 pm from the Gill Center.
