BALTIMORE, Md. - Sophomore
Tate Roth made a career-high six saves and earned his second-straight shutout as the McDaniel College men's soccer team battled Goucher to a scoreless draw Saturday at Beldon Field.
With the win, the Green Terror (1-1-1) extended their shutout streak to 180 minutes after they shutout Wilson on Wednesday, 4-0.
Roth has yet to allow a goal in two career starts while totaling eight saves.
McDaniel also extended its unbeaten streak against the Gophers to eight, posting a 5-0-3 record. The two teams have met every season since 2016. The Green Terror lead the overall series 16-2-3 and are 8-1-2 on the road.
McDaniel held a 10-9 edge in shots and a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks. Roth's counterpart, Ale Sternini, also made six saves, including five in the second half as he stopped each of the Green Terror shots he faced.
The best chance for either team to score came during a seven-minute stretch in the second half as McDaniel totaled four shots and three corner kicks beginning in the 61st minute. However, all four attempts were turned away by Sternini.
Senior
Matt Bowes led the Green Terror with three shots, two of which were on goal.
McDaniel returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Eastern Mennonite in a non-conference contest. Kickoff from the Soccer Complex is at 4 p.m.
