Katherine Taveras combined for 12 kills and 15 digs as the McDaniel College volleyball team posted a four-set road win over Wilson Tuesday, 25-16, 25-22, 21-25, 25-14.
The Green Terror (4-2) picked up their first road win of the season and posted a season-high .259 hitting percentage.
Young totaled 12 kills and hit .280 while Taveras had 14 digs and seven assists. Senior

Kenzie Mitchell had eight kills each while Mitchell added three digs and two block assists.
The first set featured three ties, the last of which came at 10-10 before McDaniel scored five consecutive points, including the final four on service aces by freshman
Kaylee Comstock. The Phoenix (0-7) would respond with the next four points to pull within one, but the Green Terror scored 10 of the final 12 points behind three kills from Young and six Wilson attack errors.
After posting a .167 hitting percentage in the opening set, McDaniel posted a .286 hitting percentage over the final three, totaling 38 kills.
In the second set, the Green Terror totaled a .273 hitting percentage with 12 kills, six of which came from Young. With the set tied at 9-9, McDaniel reeled off the next seven points before the Phoenix used a 9-3 spurt to pull back within one, 19-18. The two teams would go back-and-forth, but the visitors would take a 2-0 lead in the match led by two kills each from Young and sophomore
Renita Bankole-Gibson.
The Green Terror scored the first two points of the third set before Wilson scored the next four to take the lead for good. The Phoenix totaled their best offensive numbers of the night in the third with 13 kills and a .216 hitting percentage. Meanwhile, freshman
Stephanie Buttons totaled five kills, aa .714 hitting percentage and two digs.
McDaniel sealed the win with a convincing offensive effort in the fourth set, totaling 13 kills and a .367 hitting percentage. Young, Strouse and senior
Allyson Burgee each had three kills while Taveras totaled six of her match-high 14 digs. The fourth set featured six ties and two lead changes. With the match tied at 9-9, the Green Terror scored 16 of the final 21 points, including the final six-straight.
Sophomore
Brynn Swisher totaled 14 assists while freshman
Cassy Poteet had eight assists and three digs. Comstock added seven assists and four service aces.
McDaniel returns home to host the six match McDaniel Invitational featuring Mount Aloysius, SUNY Cobleskill and Notre Dame (Md.) beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
