LAWRENCE, Kan. - Junior Jack Sears led the McDaniel College men's cross country team with a 26th place finish at the Bob Timmons XC Classic hosted by the University of Kansas at Rim Rock Farm Saturday.
The Green Terror finished sixth out of eight teams with 165 points. McDaniel was the lone Division III team to compete as the field featured four Division I teams and three NAIA schools. The Jayhawks won the meet with 25 points. Oral Roberts' Abraham Chelangem won the 6K race with a time of 17:45.7.
Sears posted a time of 19:54.8 which was the sixth-best performance in program history and established a course record. Junior Sebby Breton placed 29th in 20:02.2.
Graduate student Tyler Richardson ran a time of 20:59.0 to place 47th while graduate student Nick Raumann followed in 49th with a time of 21:00.4.
Freshman Amadeus Davis rounded out the team score with a 63rd place finish in 21:35.3 to place 63rd.
Senior Anders Madsen placed 83rd and junior Ethan Bush came in 87th. Senior Joc Baldacci placed 88th, senior Sean Irwin 90th and sophomore Kaydan Batty 91st.
The Green Terror return to action next Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Cantello Invitational hosted by Navy.
