HERSHEY, Pa. - Sophomores
Ethan Crabb and
Charlie Dolan posted top-10 finishes to lead the McDaniel College men's golf to team to a fifth-place showing at The Hershey Cup hosted by the University of Rochester.
The Green Terror posted their second consecutive top-five finish this spring and sixth in nine events this season.
Crabb finished sixth with a two-day total of 148 as he carded a 73 in Monday's second round with nine pars and four birdies. His total was one stroke off his season low set at The Gauntlet on Sept. 11.
Dolan posted his second-straight top-10 finish as he placed 10th with a 149. He totaled 13 birdies in the second round, including eight in-a-row to close out the front nine. He has five top-10 finishes in seven events this season.
Junior
Hogan Schulze finished 38th with a two-day total of 156 which included a second-round 79. He had nine pars and two birdies.
Junior
Matt Messenger carded an 82 in the second to finish 53rd with a 161 which included three pars and two birdies. He birdied the par-5, 523-yard sixth hole, the longest on the course.
Junior
Dell Grieser turned in an 87 to finish 78th with a 172.
Meanwhile, sophomore
Sean Kelly, playing as an individual, finished 71st with a 169, including a second-round 82.
McDaniel returns to action this weekend in the Garden State Collegiate Classic hosted by Drew University at Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington, NJ. First round competition gets underway on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
