FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Sophomore
Charlie Dolan won low medalist honors while the McDaniel College men's golf team finished third at the Gettysburg Spring Shootout Sunday at Penn National Golf Club.
The Green Terror totaled a two-day total of 595 which included a 297 in Sunday's final round. The host Bullets won the 36-hole event with a 582 which included a stellar 286 on Sunday. Franklin & Marshall finished second at 593 while Swarthmore came in fourth at 599.
Dolan carded back-to-back rounds at two-under par to finish with a four-under par 140, one stroke ahead of Peyton Mussina from Penn College of Technology.
Sophomore
Ethan Crabb finished 11th with a 149.
Dolan and Crabb were ranked first and third, respectively, in par-5 scoring this weekend with Dolan averaging 4.13 strokes and Crabb averaging 4.38.
Junior
Hogan Schulze came in 21st with a 152, shooting a 76 both days, while junior
Dell Grieser was 25th with a 154 after carding a 77 in back-to-back rounds.
Junior
Matt Messenger rounded out the team with a 158 to finish 39th. Sophomore
Sean Kelly totaled a 171 as an individual.
McDaniel begins competition in the 2024 Centennial Conference Men's Golf Championship on Friday at Waynesboro Country Club. The Green Terror look for their eight conference championship and first since 2013.
