WESTMINSTER, Md. - No. 11 Johns Hopkins scored the game's first seven runs en route to a 12-3 victory over the McDaniel College baseball team Tuesday at Preston Field.
The Green Terror (16-12, 7-4 CC), who entered the game tied with Dickinson for second-place in the conference standings, committed three errors which led to four unearned runs for the Blue Jays.
Hopkins jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings, scoring five runs on four hits and three McDaniel errors.
Matthew Cooper hit a two-run home run to left in the fourth to push the lead to seven before the Green Terror scored twice in the bottom of the inning to pull the deficit back to five.

The Blue Jays (22-7, 10-1 CC) added three more runs on a three-run double by Jimmy Stevens in the sixth before sophomore
Ben Davis hit his team-leading fifth home run of the season in the bottom of the inning.
Jimmy Nunez answered with a pinch-hit home run to lead off the eighth for Hopkins before Jackson Roloff struck out, but reached base on passed ball allowing Lukas Geer to score from third for the game's final run.
McKenna went 2-for-3 with a walk while Yohn was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Davis and Smith each were 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Junior
Brady Bailey suffered his first loss of the season, allowing just two earned runs on five hits over 1.2 innings in his fifth start of the season. Bear Awadzi earned the win for the Blue Jays, scattering five hits over 5.0 innings while allowing just one earned run.
The two teams will conclude their two-game season series on Friday at Hopkins' Babb Field at Stromberg Stadium. First pitch is at 3:30 p.m. The Blue Jays edged out a 10-9 victory in last season's meeting in Baltimore.
