Jason Fritz and senior
Nick Wingo combined for eight goals as the McDaniel College men's lacrosse team posted a 19-7 victory over Juniata Friday night in its home opener at Gill Stadium.
The Green Terror (5-0) won their third-straight season opener and the first-ever meeting against the Eagles in Westminster.
Fritz finished with a season-high eight points, totaling four goals and four assists. He now has 100 career points in 30 career games with 56 goals and 44 assists. His eight points were two shy of the 10 he had in a 14-4 win versus Goucher on March 1, 2023 when he had four goals and six assists.
Wingo totaled four goals and five points, both career highs. He recorded his third career hat-trick and first this season.

AJ Johnson added three goals and one assist as McDaniel scored the game's first 11 goals and led 11-0 with 10:20 remaining in the second quarter.
Johnson posted his third career hat-trick and second this season, finishing one point shy of his career high set at Centenary on Feb. 27 when he scored five goals.
Juniata (1-4) got on the board with 7:40 left in the second and trailed 12-2 at halftime.
The Green Terror out-shot the visitors 34-10 in the first half, won 14-of-16 face-offs and held a 20-7 advantage in ground balls.
McDaniel added seven more tallies in the second half, including the first of the season for senior
Zach Micklos.
Fritz picked up his fourth assist of the game when he found Wingo for his fourth goal with 8:14 remaining in the third quarter. The helper marked the 100th point of Fritz's career and came on the team's third man-up opportunity. The Green Terror finished the game a perfect 3-for-3 in extra-man opportunities.
A total of 11 players scored at least one point for McDaniel with 10 finding the back of the net. The team totaled a season-high 60 shots and won 27-of-30 face-offs. Sophomore
TJ Bunce won 15-of-16 face-offs and picked up 11 ground balls.

Jake Arcilesi had two of the team's five caused turnovers.
After tomorrow's game at Washington & Jefferson was postponed Friday, the Green Terror will return to action next Wednesday, March 13 when they host Randolph-Macon at Gill Stadium beginning at 4 p.m.
