Amanda Thompson and sophomore
Jane Walkinshaw led the McDaniel College women's swimming team as it closed out the regular season with a dual meet at Dickinson on Saturday.
In their final meet before the Centennial Conference Swimming Championships, the Green Terror (3-10, 0-7 CC) fell to the Red Devils, 161-61.
Thompson posted two first-place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke while placing second in the 200-yard individual medley. She touched the wall first in the 500 free with a time of 5:38.49 and won the 100 back in a season-best time of 1:07.20. She also posted a season-best time of 2:26.18 in the 200 IM.
Walkinshaw had two second-place finishes in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle. She clocked in at 1:01.95 in the 100 free before claiming a season-best in the 200 free in 2:15.40.
Sophomore
Mackenzie Skelton also earned a runner-up finish, placing second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:58.69. She finished third in the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 1:15.15 which was just one hundredth of a second faster than freshman
Reagan Farris who claimed fourth in 1:15.16.

Jolie Gray teamed up to place second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 2:00.95. Individually, Gray finished fourth in the 100 free in a time of 1:12.84.
Junior
Tori McArthur was the fourth person to record a season-best on Saturday as she finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke in 3:03.91. She also touched third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:29.24.
The team of Thompson, McArthur, Walkinshaw and Farris came in fourth in the 200-yard medley relay, posting a time of 2:12.77.
McDaniel will now have over two weeks to prepare for the 2024 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships that will be hosted by Gettysburg beginning on Thursday, Feb. 22.
