LANCASTER, Pa. – The McDaniel College women's swimming team opened competition at the Centennial Conference Championships on Thursday, finishing eighth with 42 points.
 
The team of first years Marisa Otero and Alyssa Hain, senior Mackenzie Skelton and sophomore Eleanor Virgilio opened the day's events with a 2:01.11 time in the 200-yard medley relay. First year Lilly-Anne Higgins, sophomores Georgia Cole and Mackenzie Leeson and first year Jazlyn Sivak finished with a time of 2:14.28 in the same event.
 
Hain, Virgilio, Cole and Skelton clocked a time of 9:15.29 in the 800-yard freestyle relay while Sivak, Leeson, Higgins and first year Atlas Schiavo-Campo clocked a time of 10:45.56 in the same event. 
 
The second day of the conference championship on Friday begins with the prelims at 10 a.m. followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
