Hall Three-Point Play Secures Sixth-Straight Win for McDaniel

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - McDaniel College men's basketball senior Lorin Hall finished with a season-high 13 points, the last three of which came with just 16 seconds left to secure a 56-52 road win over Delaware Valley Tuesday night at James Work Gymnasium.

The Green Terror (8-1) posted their sixth-straight win, their longest win streak since they won seven in-a-row during the 2013-14 season from Jan. 8 to Jan. 28.

With eight wins in its first nine games, McDaniel is off to its best start to a season since the 1981-82 also started with an 8-1 record.

Hall was one of three players in double figures for the Green Terror while adding four rebounds and two assists. Graduate student Chuck Contee led the way with 14 points and six rebounds, both game-highs. He now has 874 points in 76 career games in his quest to become the 19th player in program history to score 1,000.

McDaniel led by nine, 48-39 with 8:19 remaining, on a jumper by Contee. However, Delaware Valley (4-5) used a 12-3 run to pull within one with 1:30 left. After a turnover by each team on their next possessions, Hall drove down the middle of the lane and scored on a layup while drawing a foul and converting the three-point play with 16 seconds to play.

Kamal Johnson scored on a layup to pull the Aggies within two, but they had to foul with less than three seconds remaining and Contee converted both free throws to seal the win for the Green Terror in the first meeting between the two teams since Jan. 4, 2003.

Junior Kevin Connelly finished with 12 points, two shy of his season-high against Regent on Dec. 7. He was a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor with three rebounds, two assists and one steal. Junior Jonas Sujeta had seven points and a game-high six rebounds while junior David Kearney added four points, game-high rebounds and two assists.

McDaniel will now break for the holiday before returning to action at Penn State Altoona on Monday, Dec. 30. Tip-off is at 2 p.m. It will mark the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
