ALTOONA, Pa. - The McDaniel College men's basketball team shot 48.1 percent from the floor in the second half as it rallied from a 10-point deficit en route to a 62-60 road victory over Penn State Altoona Monday at Adler Arena.
The Green Terror (9-1) have won seven in-a-row and with nine wins in 10 games this season, are off to the best start in program history.
Junior
Jonas Sujeta scored a game-high 18 points with 12 coming on four three-pointers as he was 4-of-8 from behind the arc. He led three players in double figures for McDaniel as junior
David Kearney totaled 13 points, six rebounds and four steals and graduate student
Chuck Contee had 10 points and four rebounds.
Sujeta scored nine points in the second half, hitting three three-pointers to lead the Green Terror comeback. Trailing 40-30 with 16:27 remaining, McDaniel used a 28-6 run to erase it largest deficit and take it largest lead at 58-46 with 7:41 left.
Sujeta initiated the comeback, scoring nine of the team's first 11 points. A total of seven players scored during the run, with the Kearney brothers adding nine points of their own as David scored five and junior
Matt Kearney had four.
Despite leading by 12, the Green Terror had to hold on down the stretch as the Nittany Lions (6-6) scored 14 of the final 18 points.
Trailing by two with two seconds to play, Kaden Claar intentionally missed the second of two free throws, but Mason Kargo's lay-up attempt at the buzzer was off the mark, giving McDaniel its fourth win in five road games this season.
The game featured five ties, eight lead changes and 41Â turnovers. Both teams attempted 23 three-pointers and combined for just 13 free throw attempts. Senior

Mikey Ayala Jr each had four points and four assists.
The Green Terror return to action on Thursday when they host a non-conference contest versus Cairn inside the Gill Center. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
