Women's Soccer Secures First Round Bye, Hosts Semifinals

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Senior Madyson Hill scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season to lead the McDaniel College women's soccer team to a 2-0 road victory over Muhlenberg Saturday.

With the win, the Green Terror (11-3-3, 7-1-2 CC) secured the No. 2 seed in next week's Centennial Conference Women's Soccer Championship and will host a semifinal contest at home on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Soccer Complex.

McDaniel held a 29-5 advantage in shots, including 14-3 in the first half, but could find the back of the net until the 63rd minute when Hill scored off an assist from sophomore Carly Brock. Hill moved into a tie with senior Jessica Weinoldt for the team lead in goals while netting her second game-winner. She is also second on the team with 12 points.

Graduate student Elaina Kluttz added her third goal of the year on a penalty kick in the 88th minute, moving her into a tie with Hill with 12 points this season.

Grace Hoffman helped keep the Mules within striking distance, making nine saves, including six in the first half. Senior Lauren Hoolahan had three saves for the Green Terror who posted their ninth shutout of the season.

McDaniel will make its ninth consecutive appearance in the conference tournament next Friday as it will host the highest remaining seed from the first round.
