WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Led by a second-place finish from senior Hogan Schulze, the McDaniel College men's golf team placed second at The Melee at Ford's Colony Country Club Monday in the team's final event of the Fall.
The Green Terror finished second with a 36-hole score of 590, just six strokes behind Drew. McDaniel placed first out of three Centennial Conference teams, ahead of Dickinson and Ursinus.
Schulze led the team with a 1-under par 143 which included a 72 in Monday's final round as he parred all 18 holes. He finished just one stroke behind low medalist Elliot Parker of Drew. The two were tied after round one, but Parker's birdie on the par-5, 532-yard 16th hole proved to be the difference.
Junior Ethan Crabb finished fourth with a 4-over par 148.
McDaniel placed four golfers in the top-10 as junior Charlie Dolan and junior Sean Kelly tied for 10th with a 7-over par 151.
Senior Matt Messenger placed 26th with a 156.
